Warspite Cirque Snowshoeing Log
A track of all my snowshoeing trips to Warspite Cirque
This is one of a few trips I repeat many times, so all trips are logged here, as many do not need their own full page.

Distance - 4.5km
Elevation Gain - 125m
Warspite Cirque is the cirque in which is found Warspite Lake, at the end of the Black Prince Loop. (Also known as the Black Prince Trail.)
It's a fairly easy snowshoe trip, with a good bit of elevation gain for its distance, much of which is gained in one big hill.
There is a lot of terrain beyond the lake, but it gets into avalanche territory and is not for the beginning snowshoer.
The lake itself is safe to walk on, as it is seasonal and dries up completely by the end of the summer - so it's really just a lakebed.
I've never managed to see the sun at Warspite Lake, unfortunately. It's in everyone else's trip photos, but never mind..

A trip scheduled for Sawmill Loop, but redirected to the Black Prince trail due to ridiculous volumes of snow on the 742 that made travel difficult, and parking impossible.
There were several avalanches up high, and we got a good look at one in the upper peak above the glades (thankfully, not where the skiers go).
4.93km, 1:46 moving, 1:14 stopped
Snowy trail, snowy trees, near the cirque
The trail opens into the cirque
Climbing up on the snowy rockpiles.
Crossing the ice bridge by the parking lot.
