I've been up Ranger Ridge a number of times via a few different south-face trails, and followed the development of new routes.
When I saw a north access suggested as a winter hike on the Daffern's blog, I was interested, so we headed out to give it a try.

The trail starts along a small sunny ridge.

Spring walking with a bit of view.

Snow starts as we ascend, but all is packed down.

Ascending snowier slops up high.

The east summit of the Ranger Hill bump.

Snowier trail through the trees heading for the summit.

Signs are out with information about the new trails and usage.

Always-popular benches at the summit make lunch comfy. The fourth one (at left) has been added since I was last here.
