Rummel Lake is a moderate snowshoe one valley north of Chester Lake, and a little longer and further.
Axel and I snowshoed up to check out the route near the end of the season.
The route first switchbacks through the lower trees, then up through an open cutblock.
The views open up along the Smith-Dorrien, then the trail heads back into the trees and up to the lake.

Axel snowshoes through the cutblock halfway up.

The sun brightens up the open treed slope.

Axel with the Smith-Dorrien peaks behind him.

A last look to the west from where the trail heads in.

An outlier of Galatea to the south of the trail.

A whiskeyjack at the lake.

Axel crazy carpeting back down.

More crazy carpeting.

Crazy carpets!
