Interlakes Trail / Canadian Mount Everest Expedition Loop
the former interlakes trail was confusingly renamed in commemoration of the first Canadian expedition, but I prefer the meaningful name.

On this summer day, instead of a big day hike, we did a couple smaller trips that I'd been interested in checking out.
This was our first of the day. Links to the other trips are at the bottom.

The Interlakes Interpretive Trail is a short walk between Upper and Lower Kananaskis Lakes.
It goes up to a small hill in between the lakes with nice views down both sides. It's a worthwhile short walk.
The trail is now officially named the Canadian Mount Everest Expedition Loop, in honour of that trip.
The trail has no connection to the Canadian Everest expedition, and the name is highly random, so I'm sticking with the original one.

Lower Kananaskis Lake and the Opal Range from the top.

Upper Kananaskis Lake and the peaks to the south.

We started out with the Interlakes Interpretive Trail (Canadian Mount Everest Exedition Loop), then checked out the Canyon Interpretive Trail.
Then drove back up the road to Bow Valley Provincial Park and the Middle Lake Interpretive Trail, and finished with a swim below the Seebee Dam.
