Tower Lake

Tower Lake is tucked in behind Castle Mountain at the end of a 7km trail, with 700m of elevation gain from the highway.
Jeff, Erin, and I hiked up to check out the route and investigate the trees.
The trail switchbacks up the front side of the mountain base, then over the east edge of the ridge.
The beginning of the trail isn't overly interesting, but once you crest the ridge, the area opens up into mixed forest with some great views.
The lake itself is tucked right under a tall rock wall on the backside of the mountain.
We didn't have a very bright day, but the snow was spectacular.
